AFRICA, A PARODY

Occasionally I hear a song, but can’t understand the lyrics. So I sing it the way I think it should go. Africa, by Toto, is such a song. And, I want to tell you it is probably the worst song ever to parody. The lines are of uneven length, and often run on way past normal length of a musical line. I started with the chorus, and once I more or less had that, I looked up the real words–well, truthfully Filosofa wrote them down for me when she chose it as her song of the day.

My biggest question was, what would make Donald J. Trump choose to ride a train through Africa? For me there was only one reason, his incredibly huge ego. I remembered how he whined about wanting to win the Nobel Peace Prize. He actually believed he deserved it. So there was the reason, but that wasn’t the whole thing yet. Please read on. It might be best to listen to Toto first, just to have the rhythm in your mind as you do.
